Kelsey Harrell is a classically trained musician and fully certified PreK-12 music educator offering private vocal and piano lessons in two Richmond locations: on the West End (Patterson & Gaskins) and in Chesterfield (near Cosby High School).

Kelsey grew up in Chesterfield County and is very fond of the Richmond area. She was raised by two musicians, and as an adolescent, began studying voice with a fabulous local teacher who sparked her passion for music. Kelsey has a Bachelor of Music in Education.

Prior to teaching private lessons, Mrs. Harrell taught general music and chorus in the public schools. She has experience teaching all ages from Pre-Kindergarten through adults, and carries her knowledge from the classroom setting into her  studio. A committed educator, Kelsey is passionate about raising up a generation of accomplished young musicians in Richmond! It brings great joy to her heart to witness students developing their natural abilities in her studio. Kelsey is blessed to remain an active performer with the Richmond Symphony Chorus, and proudly supports the local arts community.

Kelsey makes her home in the West End of Richmond with her husband, Drew, their two young children, and their excitable dog, Sawyer.

I believe that music is innate - that we all have a little bit of it inside of us, that it's human nature to enjoy and be moved by music. With the benefit of private lessons, students can nurture their natural affinity for music while developing skills that will enrich their lives and last a lifetime. I believe very passionately that music education empowers students in ALL areas of life. What I love most about teaching is witnessing students have "lightbulb" moments when a skill or concept sinks in for the first time. I consider it a great privilege to be a part of my students' success stories!
